The JR East N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket is valid for round trip travel between Narita Airport and Tokyo within 14 days.

The ticket includes:

  • Travel on the Narita Express
  • Travel between Narita Airport and stations on the N’EX route, on designated JR Lines, and in a designated Tokyo train area. For specific coverage details, please review the map on the official website.

For example, a valid route would be:

  • Oct 1: Narita Airport to Tokyo Station
  • Oct 14: Tokyo Station to Narita Airport

With the Narita Express, you can reach central Tokyo in approximately one hour. Each seat has a large table and an electrical outlet, allowing you to travel in comfort after your long plane ride. The train also connects you to JR East’s free Wi-Fi,  has a convenient luggage storage area, and is equipped with bathrooms. Do you need it?

We recommend the N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket if:

  • You are a foreign passport holder
  • You are traveling between Narita Airport and the central Tokyo area
  • You are looking for a convenient and comfortable train ride to start and end your trip
  • Your trip is 14 days or less

You should NOT/CANNOT purchase this pass if:

  • Your trip is longer than 14 days
  • You are flying into or out of an airport other than Narita
  • You are looking for the cheapest travel option between Narita Airport and Tokyo. For instance, bus travel and other train options are longer but cheaper.

For individuals who meet the qualifications above, the pass is extremely beneficial. For instance, typical round trip fares between Narita Airport and Tokyo Station cost ¥6,280 for adults. With the N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket the cost is ¥5,200, saving you ¥1,080. The pass is also economical for stations like Shinagawa, Shibuya, and Shinjuku, saving you ¥1,460.

Where to buy N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket

You can purchase the N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket through JR East’s Train Reservation website or at ticket offices in Narita Airport.

If you purchase the pass online, you will need to pick up a physical copy once you land. Please note that you will NEED your passport to obtain the pass. A copy of your passport is NOT acceptable. You can either:

  • Pick up the pass at a Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machine with a passport reader, which are available at designated stations.
  • Pick up the pass at a Travel Service Center counter in Narita Airport and Narita Airport Terminal 2・3 Station. You must bring your passport.

If you purchase the pass in Japan, you can do so at the aforementioned Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machines with passport readers or a Travel Service Center. Review the centers’ locations before you arrive!

How to use N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket

To use the pass, simply insert it into the automatic ticket gate machines at stations.

When reserving seats, you can:

  • Reserve them up to one month in advance via JR East’s Train Reservation website
  • Reserve them in Japan at a Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machine
  • Reserve them in Japan at a JR East Travel Service Center
