Make your content accessible

It's vital to make web content accessible to all readers. We adopt a range of measures to make our site as accessible as possible to all users, authors themselves should also bear in mind a few points.

While by no means an exhaustive list, please take into the account the following suggestions to make your articles more accessible:

Use Headings

Proper use of headings to break down your article text into sections is not just good SEO, it helps someone using a screen reader understand and navigate your article. Make sure your article uses a natural hierarchy of Headings and Sub-Headings to convey the messages in your article. For those technically minded, we take care of the actual heading designations from h1, h2, h3 etc. so you don't have to worry about this at all.

Add captions

Captions held illustrate what is going on within images, helping influence the alt tags applied to the images. This is important for users who may be sight-impaired.

Descriptive links

Avoid using phrases like 'click here' because it is confusing and meaningless to screen readers. Think about the context and link enough text to make it the target destination obvious to the reader.
