Sapporo City Scenes

The term pedestrian is often used as a pejorative, rather than positive, adjective when describing something. In the case of Sapporo, the word best describes its surprisingly compact and accessible downtown core. Unlike other large urban centers throughout Japan, the city is most certainly pedestrian, in the sense that it will be best enjoyed as one. Most visitors will disembark at either Sapporo or Odori station and by doing so, avail themselves of the many green spaces to enjoy and explore or just have your lunch on a picnic table and spend the afternoon “people-watching.”
