See wild Japanese Macaques on top of Kyoto's Arashiyama
بقلم Ahmed Nabil
Monkey Park Iwatayama is located in Arashiyama in Kyoto, Japan. On top of Mount Arashiyama on the same side of the Oi River is a small park with close to 130 Japanese macaque monkeys also known as snow monkeys. While they are wild and free to roam, you have the opportunity to purchase apples to feed them. Each of them have a name and the baby monkeys are very cute. There are only three rules to follow: 1. Don’t stare into the monkeys’ eyes. 2. Don’t touch the monkeys. And 3. Don’t feed them outside of the designated hut.
While taking the thirty minute hike to the top you may be able to spot roaming deer and different birds among the trees. During the spring cherry blossoms trees are in full swing and in the fall don’t miss the colored leaves.
