Onioshidashi Volcanic Park

0 0 Review

Located on the Gunma-Nagano border, Mount Asama is one of Japan's most active volcanoes. The wide variety of alpine wildlife against the volcanic landscape creates some truly spectacular sights. Black rocks, created by hardened lava, punctuate the landscape. There are even rare types of plants that flourish year-round; goblin gold moss is one such species, in spring and autumn. Goblin gold is especially unique for its endangered status and the park is one of the few places in the world where it grows.
