Held every March in Aichi Prefecture, the Nagoya Women's Marathon is recognized as the largest women-only marathon in the world. The race is open to all women and offers a seven-hour time limit, making it accessible even for those new to long-distance running.

The course starts and finishes at Vantelin Dome Nagoya, taking participants through major streets and landmarks in the city. Its flat route and generous cutoff time have made it popular among those aiming to set personal records.

Runners who complete the race receive a Baccarat crystal tumbler, a unique finisher’s gift that has become a hallmark of the event.

The marathon also includes an expo at the dome in the days leading up to the race, with sponsor booths, merchandise sales, and a stage event. One highlight is GO RUNWAY, a fashion show that uses the race's finish line as a catwalk.

Certified as a World Athletics Platinum Label race, Nagoya’s event ranks alongside major international marathons such as Boston, Berlin, and Tokyo. It also serves as a qualifying event for national teams and other major competitions. The event was first held in its current format in 2012 and has maintained its Guinness World Record status since 2013.
